Job Description
A stable and growing company just west of the RTP area has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller. This is a new role due to their recent growth. This is a hybrid role with some flexibility.Salary to $170K plus a bonus potential and good benefits
  • Financial Reporting: This role will be keyin the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. You will also be heavily involved with the Month-end close process.
  • Technical Accounting - You will be tasked with understanding and implementing Technical Accounting policies. This includes researching technical accounting issues and ensuring that the Accounting group is educated as necessary. You will also play a lead role with maintaining Internal Controls.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting -Working cross-functionally as it relates to the annual budget and forecast process, variance analysis, and other ad hoc analysis for special projects as the business dictates. Provide Accounting support and guidance for specific budgeting and forecasting issues, monitoring variances, and providing explanations for significant differences.
  • Leading a team - You will also oversee the work of Accounting and Finance professionals. This includes providing mentorship, working as a team, and assisting with policies and procedures.
  • Ad hoc duties -This role will also be the primary liaison for the external audit team, help with the preparation of taxes, perform specific systems duties and be involved with any upgrades/implementations as the business grows.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 7+ years' experience in Accounting, at some sort of management level. Rising Accounting Managers/Asst. Controllers are also encouraged to apply.
  • A public accounting foundation is preferred, as is the CPA designation.
  • Must have a solid base of ERP knowledge. Managing large amounts of data is also highly desired.
  • Understanding of Technical Accounting is required.
  • M&A exposure is a plus.
