We are seeking a Technical Program Manager aligned to Slack's core product, accessibility and developer experience pillars!

Core Product is responsible for the core aspects of the Slack experience including messaging, notifications, and search. The Accessibility team builds infrastructure that keeps Slack working well with common assistive technologies and partners with feature teams to craft and build features inclusively. The Developer experience team focuses on improving developer experiences to accelerate velocity across the full development cycle and the entire organization.

In this role, you will partner with the accessibility team to ensure that Product, Design, and Engineering meet Slack's accessibility standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with the DevXP team to structure and drive multi-functional programs that accelerate and improve performance, release cadence, and developer velocity at scale.

As a TPM, you will drive larger prioritized efforts aligned with engineering and company strategy with a bias toward action, a demeanor of vitality, proactivity, and initiative that results in tangible impact. What you will be doing:
  • Work closely with your Product Management and Engineering counterparts to develop a strategy, roadmaps, and quarterly goals for mobile, desktop and other platforms

  • Establish metrics to measure the health of programs

  • Build and maintain timelines, project plans, and communication artifacts to ensure everyone is operating from the most recent and accurate information

  • Influence product and multi-functional teams to find opportunities to drive impact

  • Perform risk management and scope management on projects, and identify blockers

  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders as changes occur with projects within the programs they support

  • Identify decisions required to move a project forward, settle decision makers, and ensure decisions are made to drive projects forward

  • Locate and define new operational excellence improvement opportunities

  • Lead and facilitate highly valuable multi-functional review meetings

  • Drive software development processes to enable teams, from sprint planning to retrospectives, with an eye towards optimization and team unity

  • Bring clarity to areas of deeper complexity

  • Break down strategic objectives into tangible programs that teams can successfully execute against

What you should have:
  • At least 4 years leading planning, resource management, project lifecycles, and workflows in a dynamic product or engineering organization

  • Experience leading technical programs in Product Development, Accessibility, Engineering, or a similar functional area

  • Experience crafting and driving programs to implement and maintain digital accessibility, inclusive design, or similar cross-functional practices

  • Understanding of the developer efficiency, tools and systems that enable software to be developed and shipped

  • Experience with enterprise software SDLC and Agile/Lean delivery methodologies

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a capability of effectively communicate technical concepts to engineers and identify technical risks.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience managing activities across multiple teams

  • Proven track record of delivering sophisticated projects and programs with cross-functional teams

  • Self-motivated and the ability to empower others

  • JIRA user experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or two years of equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience

Bonus Points:
  • Experience with Git, Github, SQL, data analytics, Grafana, and real time monitoring software

  • Experience working with vendors to run upstream and downstream dependencies

  • Familiarity with accessibility standard processes on desktop and mobile and common assistive technologies

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $116,600 to $160,400.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
