The Traffic (Marketing) Intern will collaborate closely with the Senior Media Strategist to oversee agency media traffic. Their duties encompass maintaining a comprehensive traffic matrix to guarantee timely development of creative assets meeting the required specifications. They will also support multiple teams as needed to facilitate efficient media trafficking. This is an ideal opportunity for a wide range of advertising and marketing focused students.

  • Work Arrangement: This position is able to work onsite arrangement at the main office located in Lansing, MI.
  • Schedule: Part Time (up to 20 Hours/Week); Expectation to work 9am-5pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. Additional time in the office (up to 4 additional hours) can be distributed across an additional day or multiple days during the week.
  • Compensation: $15.00/hour
  • Duration: 12 Weeks during the summer; continuing into the school year may be offer pending schedule and work performance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate coordination between Client Strategists, media, and the creative team.
  • Support facilitation of the production of creative assets for campaign launches.
  • Support the maintenance of matrices for all clients detailing deadlines for approved creative materials and campaign schedules, including start dates for each media tactic, ad size, format, and vendor contact information.
  • Follow up to ensure that media outlets have received the necessary materials and update matrices accordingly, including any adjustments needed for campaign optimization.
  • Work with existing traffic system ensuring the digital delivery of broadcast spots to various platforms (TV, CTV, etc.).
  • Coordinate with vendors for the delivery of radio and digital audio spots, typically in mp4 format, and communicate instructions to the creative team regarding spot format requirements.
  • Notify the creative team when media plans are approved, providing a matrix of approved ad sizes and deadlines for reference.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Pursuing a college degree, preferably in Advertising, Communications, or Marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Displays high level of creativity and innovation

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage.
  • Ability to travel to/from appointments as required.
  • This position is able to work in an onsite working arrangements.
