Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Engineer & Solution Architect to drive the engineering practices, transformation, and modernization of applications in Corporate Bank. This role should enable in identification of impediments, and support various functional engineering teams to align with the Target State engineering practices. You will be expected to influence engineering community to deliver solutions that comply with the Architecture Blue Print and with the Target State Architecture of the Bank. You are expected to be hands on and define and drive the engineering practices, identify the areas needing modernization and engage and support them to the modernization of their tech stack e.g introduction of microservices, application programming interface (APIs), event driven design, cloud adaption, test automation frameworks etc. You will lead the Corporate Bank(CB) tech wide engineering initiative and provide local center level support.

What You'll Do

  • Promotes the target state architecture across the engineering community and all other stakeholder groups within and outside of the domain

  • Guides development teams towards adoption of modern design patterns and champions use of technologies to achieve highly scalable and well supported systems

  • Designs technical solutions for complex business problems

  • Create Engineering practices guidelines, modernization plans, identification of legacy technology and path to their decommissioning and create insights for management using the data and industry available tools

  • Identify the appropriate tools and support on engineering automation work e.g Test Automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment or development (CI/CD) etc

  • Find appropriate use cases for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) movement and support teams to their GCP journey

How You'll Lead

  • Create insights for top management on the engineering maturity of the CB tech origination and support teams to attain the desired maturity

  • Build /Mentor and grow high performing and innovative team

  • Contributes or performs deep-dive reviews of technical solutions designs produced by individual teams and advises and do handholding on their improvement and ensures compliance with strategy, architecture standards and re-use of existing assets

Skills You'll Need

  • Strong Engineering, Solution & Domain Architecture background, with proven track record of working in a very complex environment, high volume, low latency systems with extensive relevant experience in Information Technology (IT) (Development, Architecture and performing POCs on latest technologies) and Financial Services

  • Experience with designing solutions in public cloud platforms (Professional architect certification beneficial) and up to date on modern architecture design patterns e.g. micro-services, streaming architectures, horizontal scalability, API design patterns, REST services, SOA principles, database systems, User Interface (UI) frameworks, enterprise integration patterns, modern software development life cycle (SDLC) practices with experience on CI/CD tools like Maven, Jenkins, github actions, Kubernetes etc

  • Passionate technologist with ability to deep dive into the code level with expert knowledge of the java ecosystem and ability contribute code in POCs, MVPs or project reviews with strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders with the ability to facilitate group sessions and excellent communications skills, ability to respectfully challenge stakeholders think about differing options

  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to interpret bank wide specifications into specific and effective domain requirements and strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders with proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific data areas

  • Good understanding of the Transaction Banking business. Prior experience working within Banking with Agile delivery knowledge (Goole Cloud Platform experience is an added advantage) with strong MS-Office skills (experience with modern software development life cycle (SDLC) tools JIRA, Sharepoint, asset and liability management (ALM), Confluence is a plus) and technical Skills in the understanding of Microservices, Microfront ends, using technologies like Java Springboot, Reactjs, javascript, and Nodejs

  • Broad know ledge of related Business Applications and underlying technologies involved in the marketplace with a strong academic track record including the achievement of a good honor degree or equivalent

  • Maturity and persuasiveness to engage in business dialogue and support stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Quality Management tools and techniques

  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organization and in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery, with the ability to respectfully challenge stakeholders think about differing options

  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in Indian and English (written/verbal)

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
