Position Summary | The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in scheduling and supervising the medical needs of the student-athletes in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This individual will have the opportunity to function within a comprehensive sports performance model at the Division I level, preventing, evaluating, treating and designing thorough "return to play" programs for injured student-athletes. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for, but not limited to: overseeing the daily operation of athletic training room, medical referrals when warranted, thorough documentation as part of student-athlete's medical records, mentoring other athletic trainers, monitoring and addressing medical and wellness issues of assigned team(s) and other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This person may be required to become a CPR instructor to assist with certification of Athletic Training and Athletic Department staff. This individual is responsible for the policies and procedures of the University, Conference and the NCAA in the day-to-day operation of the sports medicine program. |
