This position is essential to our student employment program, as well as our information, operations, and event management teams. The person in this role will drive student initiatives for the department including training and development, supervision, recruitment, hiring, and advising. This position requires a high level of organization, a mind for details, and a willingness to contribute your own ideas and knowledge to the betterment of our department. NC State Student Centers oversees the operation of Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center, including event management. We strive to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the NC State community. In support of the university's educational mission, we serve as a cornerstone for student growth, learning, and involvement, including an environment prioritizing students leading operations. Operating within the division of Campus Enterprises, NC State's division for retail and hospitality, we approach achieving university goals with a unique blend of student success, customer service, and a focus on the physical environment. Over the past 11 years, our graduate assistants have developed a student-led employment program that includes 18 different positions and employs approximately 110 students. Our focus on student development and success through student employment has gained recognition at NC State, and it is now implemented across Campus Enterprises. In addition, university unions across the US often solicit our advice for supporting their own student employment programs. This is an hourly position with a 10-11 month assignment. There is a mandatory 32-day break at the end of 11 months. Excellent performance during this time may provide an opportunity to renew employment and/or advance. |
