Job Description

Vaco is looking to partner with an exceptional Assistant or Corporate Controller Level Accounting professional on a consulting basis. Our client needs an Assistant Controller to step in approximately 2-3 months until they can fulfill their permanent search. The client has expectations for this consultant to be onsite, 5 days a week in Greensboro, NC.

As the Assistant Controller, you will have leadership over a small team and will be hands-on in month-end close and day-to-day accounting. During this transitional period, you have the chance to deep dive into some special projects, investigate issues, and handle financial reporting and more. Successful individuals must be detail oriented, require minimal leadership/management, and be able to function seamlessly in both individual and collaborative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Run point with Month-end close and help prep for any audit needs.
  • Participate in financial reporting and consolidations across multiple locations.
  • Oversee local entities and their accounting while managing the information at the consolidated level.
  • Researching and addressing accounting, system, and reporting matters.
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors and auditors.
  • Manage the General Ledger, ERP system, and special projects.
  • Manage a team of approximately 4 employees. Have oversight of GL, payroll, cash, intercompany, and debt. Work cross departmentally with other areas of the business on business performance needs.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • CPA, Preferred
  • 8-10 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
  • Exhibits a go-getter personality and can be a quick learner.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Multi-location and multi-national experience, a plus
  • Individuals must have worked in a larger scale ERP environment (i.e. Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Timely and organized individuals will thrive best in this environment.
  • Be comfortable getting in the weeds and addressing discrepancies and issues with the accounting process to better policies and procedures.
