Job Description

Albemarle is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to develop and drive our engaging, brand-building global presence on social media. Powered by a passion for storytelling, the Social Media Manager will work across the enterprise to plan and implement social media activity that amplifies the Albemarle brand, builds a meaningful community with our key stakeholders, shapes our social narrative and aligns our messages with business and brand goals.

In this role you will serve as a creative, forward-thinking and analytical leader to execute our social strategy and develop engaging content across platforms, while listening and measuring performance tied to metrics. You will be a change-agent to propose new, innovative approaches and stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, technologies, and best practices.

Based in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, this role is highly collaborative both within the communications team and across other global functions and business units.

Who you are:

  • Creative and engaging storyteller who can simplify complex information to connect with all stakeholders

  • Expert in social media platforms, organic and paid social strategies

  • Passionate for social media and content creation with strong writing and communication skills

  • Collaborator across functions, business units and geographies

  • Results-oriented and able to adapt to changing trends and dynamics

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute integrated campaigns

  • Develop highly engaging creative content. Design and video skills preferred, combined with resourcing graphic and multi-media assets as needed

  • Post on all platforms and monitor and amplify engagement

  • Set benchmarks and optimize and improve social program health tied to metrics, and report on performance on an ongoing basis to understand trends and inform the social and content strategies

  • Provide ongoing monitoring and dashboards for social analytics

  • Understand social communities/influencers in the industry and the platforms that are important for thought leadership

  • Stay up to date with social media trends, changing algorithms, and emerging platforms to ensure that Albemarle's social media presence remains innovative and effective.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience; including successfully leading, monitoring and measuring a social media strategy to meet company or organization's established goals and communications preferable in a publicly traded, highly technical field or scientific environment

  • A proven track record of delivering successful social media campaigns that have shown measurable business impact, including significant growth in brand following and engagement

  • Expertise in marketing and communications with ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, matrixed environments, and different levels of leadership both internally and externally.

  • Strong written communication skills and graphics/multi-media experience

  • Project management skills to manage editorial calendar and implement program details

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, PR or a similar field

  • Knowledge in tools like Sprout Social, Canva, Google analytics tools, CRM platforms and Adobe Creative Cloud, Premier Pro

  • Ability to 10% travel
