Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides general repairs as needed.
  • Follows safe practices in the use of electricity.
  • Performs or participates in generator testing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to trouble shoot, and repair the systems in the facility: Electrical, water, gas, security system, HVAC, plumbing, and other essential systems.
  • Responds timely to issues.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and be aware of the need to call an outside contractor if repairs cannot be completed internally.
  • Knowledge of warranty status of all systems and ability to familiarize self with technicians and the systems.
  • Ability to repair and paint any wall surface.
  • Completes mechanical repairs of exhaust motors and pumps.
  • Ability to move furniture and equipment throughout hospital.
  • Assures that chemicals are used, stored and maintained in a safe manner according to manufacturer's recommendations and reports any hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Collects mail and delivers to post office
  • Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
  • Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment.
  • Displays honesty and mutual respect when communicating with peers and other departments.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties in this job classification

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equilvalent.
  • One year experience preferred in general maintenance, eletrical, and plumbing
  • Current and active Driver's License (with a clean record)
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
