Description

General Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor position develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, Assembly technicians, materials, parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards, cost controls, customer satisfaction, enhancing department morale, and ensuring schedule requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages talent development, coaches, and develops high performance teams.

2. Provides visionary leadership through communication and knowledge transfer.

3. Analyzes work requirements and outlines the schedules and methods to be followed for efficiency and safety.

4. Plans, develops, coordinates, assigns, and directs small to moderate production teams and processes.

5. Leads the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods.

6. Estimates staffing requirements and related costs. Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, etc. to facilitate production processes.

7. Analyzes and plans work force utilization through continuous improvement concepts.

8. Enforces all Company rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

9. Prepares and manages correspondences, reports, and documents related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental.

10. Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.

11. Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. Two or four year degree - preferred

2. Minimum of 5 years of Supervisor experience within a high-volume Manufacturing environment - preferred

3. Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing aerospace industry

4. A&P and/or other related licensure - highly desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices

2. Working knowledge of Root Cause analysis

3. Working knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems, production planning and engineering requirements. - preferred

4. Basic Project Management skills.

5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

6. Familiarity with SAP and TeamCenter operation systems preferred.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Lotus Notes.

8. Ability to work flexible hours/schedules as required.

9. Ability to lead, guide and direct others.

10. Ability to work with cross-functional areas.

11. Ability to lead and develop others in a supervisory capacity.

12. Ability to think analytically, multi-task and manage stress.

Physical Requirements:

1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).

4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.

6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.

7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.

8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology "or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
