OverviewAre you a software engineer with a can-do attitude, great collaboration skills and looking to help accelerate the adoption of Azure? On the Azure Resource Manager team, we build open-source tools such as Bicep, a large-scale deployment automation platform and set of core features that enable customers to confidently deploy and run their cloud infrastructure.We are looking for a skilled engineer that is customer focused to help us chart a course for the next generation of infrastructure automation tooling. This is a project with an opportunity for growth and immediate business impact! We are looking for candidate who can think broadly, collaborate well, pick up and contribute to a broad range of technologies, and generally want to have fun enabling enterprise customers to leverage technology to be their most efficient and effective in their business.As a Software Engineer II on the Azure Deployments team, you will develop new features for the services that power Bicep, Azure Resource Manager Templates and other products, and for tooling used by customers to author infrastructure as code using Bicep. This opportunity will allow you to partner with Community team members to ensure the Bicep community of open-source contributors and users is healthy and supported. ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.OtherEmbody our Culture and Values
