Sr Manager, Distribution Finance - US - Apex, NC

The Blueprint (Role Summary)

The Sr Manager, Distribution Finance will work closely with the North American Operations Finance teams to lead financial operations activities such as planning, controlling and investments. Reporting to the VP of Finance for our North America Hand Tools division, this position will be based in Apex, NC and we are able to support with relocation assistance if necessary!

The Build (Role Responsibilities)

* Coordinate and direct the financial planning, controlling, budgeting, procurement, and capital investment activities.

* Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and other reports pertaining to assigned locations.

* Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.

* Lead, coach and develop associates performing operations financial reporting, accounting, controlling and budgeting duties.

* Interface with business leaders to understand forecasted demand.

* Use lean tools such as root cause analysis, countermeasures, and action planning to establish and manage continuous improvement.

* Validate sourcing, process improvement and capital allocation request savings for gross margin flow-through.

* Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.

* Maintain and review of records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories to assist in managing continuous improvement.

* Assist with review and preparation of capital appropriation requests.

* Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, governmental policies and directives, and current accounting standards.

* Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with company accounting procedures.


The Toolbox (Requirements)

* BS Degree in Accounting or Finance

* 8+ years' progressive experience in an accounting or controlling function within a warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing environment as well as management experience required.

* Advanced ERP knowledge (SAP required), Hyperion and Microsoft Excel software.

* Knowledge of GAAP, financial consolidation systems (Hyperion) and internal control framework.

* Demonstrated strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects.

* Travel required (~10%).
