As a HR Support Specialist, you will be a member of the HR services team reporting to the in the ABB Distributions Solutions, responsible for delivering HR service assistance to the HR community, business managers and employees. You will assist internal customers, with accurate and timely processing of information for all stakeholders. This role will work onsite in the Pinetops, NC facility.

Your responsibilities

  • Address HR-related issues, answering questions, and initiating and managing AskHR tickets
  • Show employees how to find HR-related information and how to use self-service functions
  • Communicate information about policies and standards to internal customers clearly and concisely to ensure adoption
  • Lead on site payroll sign-off and administration
  • Respond to and addressing routine compensation, payroll, benefits, and time management inquiries
  • Support in the execution of talent acquisition with recruiting, onboarding, orientation
  • Coordinate site Communication: Org Announcements, Weekly News Reports and Communication Boards
  • Perform Workday and HRGT System Transactions
  • Coordinates employee events and employee activity committee
  • Support employee relations and compliance activities
  • Support annual HR training requirements (EEOC, Sexual Harassment, Workplace Violence, etc.)
  • Process Wage Garnishments, Child Support Orders & Related Items
  • Prepare reports and documents for authorities and checking the quality of output from other HR Services Specialists
  • Ensure that systems and databases have up-to-date employee and organizational information with high data quality and accuracy, and providing reports where required
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Your background

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, human resources management or related field (or significant experience in lieu of degree)
  • 2 years of experience in either HR operations, HR generalist, HR services (HRIS, Employee Life Cycle, Learning & Development, People Analytics, Talent Acquisition), administrative experience, or similar.
  • Knowledge of local statutory, legal and labor law
  • The ability to manage multiple demands on your time and to work in cross-functional teams
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • A proactive way of working to serve customers with a "can-do" attitude
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
