The Accounting Manager is responsible for providing accounting support to our Corporate Accounting Department. In this role, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the accounting operations within the finance department. This position will provide strategic guidance and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The team will have a significant impact on the organization's financial performance and growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the Corporate Accounting team
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including the review of journal entries and complex reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts such as fixed assets, leases, payroll, intercompany and accrued expenses
  • Review and analyze variances between actual consolidated financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and relevant industry regulations
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department
  • Lead the preparation of financial data for audits and coordinate with external auditors
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in to maintain an environment of internal control and compliance with Cornerstone accounting policies and SOX requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with Corporate, Technical Accounting and Consolidations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and financial analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work as part of team in a fast-paced environment, achieving goals with others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance in the manufacturing sector
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred
  • All Microsoft Office products proficiency desired
