Krispy Kreme's Manager, Occupational Health and Safety is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a variety of workplace health and safety programs focused on providing the best work experience for Krispy Kremer's and high productivity for company success.

HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement a variety of safety programs & goals to promote occupational health and safe work practices, aimed at preventing losses related to workplace incidents. Apply similar methods to minimize company property losses and customer incidents.
  • Develop and implement safety strategies into manageable policies and procedures to move the Company forward to continuous safety improvement.
  • Understanding of workplace hazards and industrial hygiene.
  • Liaising with relevant bodies such as Local, State, and Federal authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records and prepares reports concerning new and ongoing safety and health programs and program effectiveness. Monitors program performances; recommends and implements modifications to systems and procedures for continual improvement.
  • Review audits of facilities and equipment to determine compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulatory requirements. Provide guidance as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, maintain a worker safety participation program.
  • Develop, implement, maintain a daily workplace safety inspection process.
  • Collaboration with the training department to identify safety topics, create tools, materials, and aids to enhance the safety training program and to ensure regulatory and functional safety training is properly conducted to all employees upon hire, recurring and remedial basis.
  • Receive incident reports. Assess and investigate all reported hazards, near-miss, injury, illness, vehicle accident, facility damage, or any incident that involves an employee, customer, or company property. Coordinate with field teams reporting the incident, insurance carriers, legal, human resources, and other groups to ensure the matter is thoroughly investigated and that the root cause is determined so that mitigation measures can be implemented.
  • Collaborate with field operations managers to ensure company health and safety policies and procedures are communicated and understood. Stay current in trade journals. Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and training sessions to obtain information beneficial to Krispy Kreme's occupational health and safety.
  • Advocate, participate, and promote wellness, safe work culture.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to integrate safety strategies into all aspects of our business.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • B.S./B.A. degree with at least 5 years related experience in safety or risk duties.
  • Certification by the BCSP is desirable (CSP, ASP, GSP, SMS) or enrolled toward certification.
  • Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene, GMP and food manufacturing safe practices.
  • Background and have worked in and/or have a strong working knowledge of safety, NFPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI/ASSP/ISO 45001:2018 standards preferred.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, Internet, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Able to train and become proficient in the Risk Information Management System (RMIS).
  • Excellent customer service skills & composure under pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation for cultural diversity in our store community.
  • Read, interpret, and apply a variety of regulations related to occupational health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Excellent professional communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel up to (40%).
  • Strong creative, analytical and innovative thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of team members, managers, and directors.
  • Ability to work with and negotiate pricing on items purchased from safety vendors.
  • Closely manage all travel expense and expenditures.
