Primary Purpose of Position | The Associate Dean for Research and Innovation position provides support for the College of Engineering's research enterprise, with an emphasis on further enhancing the strengths and potency of the College's research portfolio and deliverables. This is achieved by fostering and advancing research collaborations, identifying and structuring new opportunities of benefit to the College, promoting strategic internal and external partnerships; and ensuring the necessary College-wide practices and systems of support for the scholarly work of the faculty, staff, and students of the College. The Associate Dean for Research and Innovation is expected to work with the constituents of the College of Engineering (COE) to further strengthen the COE's research productivity and reputation in alignment with the cross-departmental focus areas of Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications, and Complex Systems and Networks. |

Primary Function of Organizational Unit | North Carolina A&T State University is a public land grant high research activity university that enrolls approximately 13,487 students. The University is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The College of Engineering (COE), with approximately 2,402 students, has 5 Doctoral programs, 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET-accredited program Computer Science. Experience in securing and delivering Department of Defense research and contracts is also preferred.
