A key role in assisting the sales team, the Proposal Specialist prepare Process Automation Measurement & Analytics sales proposals for Analytical Sales. In this role, your strong technical and market knowledge will assist you in providing customers with efficient and effective solutions.

This position reports to

Sales Operations Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with customer and Channel Partner representatives responsible for making purchasing decisions
  • Interact with relevant parties to negotiate sales, resolve disputes, and quality-related issues
  • Review and analyze customer specifications - coordinate input from other departments to develop proposal responses to customer requirements
  • Simultaneously process information on multiple and varied projects/initiatives, and respond effectively to changes in priorities
  • Develop price and cost estimates for new proposals and revisions
  • Utilize engineering data, drawings, customer specifications and related information to prepare price and cost estimates, requests for quotations for purchase of components, evaluate supplier quotations and summarize total price and cost estimates
  • Write complete proposal documents and revise proposal documents, as required
  • Compile data for reporting proposal scope, terms, cost, and profitability, to management
  • Attend meetings to exchange information and analyze proposal requirements
  • Participate in investigation, definition, and documentation of processes and business alignment
  • Establish and validate procedures for existing and future business needs
  • Duties may require domestic or international travel
Your background

  • 2 plus years of experience in sales operations, sales administration, or similar role; or associate degree in business, engineering, communication; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $66,000 and $122,600 annually.
