Demonstrates the ability to effectively utilize various communications devices in various situations such as Computers, pagers, voice communications devices (Two-Way Radios) and situations such as Computers, pagers, voice communications devices (Two-Way Radios) and telecommunications systems (Phone Systems). -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates clear and coherent communication skills with all persons throughout the secondary market and within the health system. Maintain ongoing communication with all transport units throughout the entire transport process. -------------------------------------------------- Performs data entry for patient referrals, physician consults, unit response times and other data collection and incorporates this information to improve the referral and dispatch process. -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates the ability to receive, appropriately triage, and facilitate all incoming communications in an efficient manner. The communicator notifies the Charge Nurse of potential problems, real situations and delays of patient transport. -------------------------------------------------- Maintains accurate and complete follow-up information with referring and receiving physicians and facilities. -------------------------------------------------- Ensures completion of all patient charge information generated by CareLink and coordinates its timely entry into the billing interface. -------------------------------------------------- Contribute to the unit's departmental annual objectives as defined by the Director each year. -------------------------------------------------- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. -------------------------------------------------- |
EDUCATION: |
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required Required: Medical terminology course completion or equivalent experience with medical terminology required. |
EXPERIENCE: |
1 year office support experience required, 2 years preferred Previous experience with Microsoft Windows? based computer applications preferred. 2 years previous telecommunications experience preferred in a 911 Center or equivalent Public Safety Dispatch Center. |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
REQUIRED BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider PREFERRED North Carolina Medical Responder preferred. EMT or EMD certifications preferred. APCO Basic Telecommunicator certifications Preferred. Public Safety experience preferred. (Police, Fire , EMS or 911 Center) |
