Job Description

Insituform Technologies LLC,an Aegion Company,is looking for an experienced Equipment Field Mechanic.

Insituform Technologies LLCis a leading worldwide provider of cured-in place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The Company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative and non-scheduled maintenance, including inspecting, repairing, and/orreplacing components and systems on industrial trucks and operation equipment.

  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance on equipment to include hydraulics, electrical, robotics, high pressure water pumps and other components.

  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating conditions.

  • Perform equipment evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems as needed.

  • Completes daily maintenance and repair logs.

  • Moves machinery as required.

  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.

  • Maintains work area, equipment, and tools in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of mechanic experience.

  • Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and high-pressure pumps.

  • ASE certification is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years heavy duty truck repair experience

  • Provide your own tools initially.

  • Proficient in the use of online systems and computer software.

  • CDL Class A or B required.

  • Extensive travel required.

Language Skills:

Ability to use effective communication methods. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Apply common understanding to carry out sense in order to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Leadership Skills:

Must have strong interpersonal skills with results oriented in customer service management. In addition, must be a strong communicator and be able to take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance.

In the performance of duties for this position, the employee is: regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, position also requires employee to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and taste or smell; regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 70 pounds). Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability for extended concentration.

Work Environment:

In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in the field and perform work in outside weather conditions (occasionally near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
