Essential Job Duties | The Research Technician will perform field and greenhouse trials to evaluate and characterize various vegetation management practices in various agronomic settings including right-of-ways, row crops, and turfgrass systems. Competency in greenhouse/field trial procedures, data collection, and statistical analysis are a must for this position. Individual must be self-motivated, well organized, and capable of communicating results. This position will assist with field, greenhouse and laboratory/controlled growth chamber experiments for a research program focusing on vegetation management along roadsides. The individual will work with undergraduate and graduate students, research technicians, and principal investigators to initiate, monitor, and summarize experiments to fulfill objectives. Current areas of research include turfgrass establishment, weed management, plant growth regulator programs, and pesticide environmental fate with an overarching goal of devising comprehensive vegetation management programs. At present, this position is listed as time-limited for two (2) years, with a maximum time-limited status of 3 years. However, the position has the potential to become permanent if future funding is secured for its continuation. |
